They Take in Two Barn Kittens, Though Not from the Same Litter, The Cats Are Meant to Be Together

They took in two barn kittens in desperate need of help. Though not from the same litter, the cats were destined to be together.

About two months ago, Karly from Salty Animal Rescue welcomed two kittens who urgently needed a safe place to land.

They were rescued along with 10 other kittens from a farm in a joint effort between Salty Animal Rescue and Bark at the Moon. "I believe these two girls are from different litters," Karly shared. "The smokey one was especially tiny, weighing just 215 grams at around three weeks old."

Within two days in foster care, the smaller kitten perked up and began to gain weight.

The two were affectionately named Jelly (a tiny house panther) and Bean (a smokey fluffball). They took to bottle-feeding like pros, and after just a week of round-the-clock care, they plumped up, especially Jelly.

"I wasn't sure Bean would make it when we first got her. She was so tiny and underweight for her age."

Bean was treated for a case of the sniffles and poured every bit of strength into eating. As she grew stronger, fluffier, and more alert, she started to resemble a tiny Ewok with her round face and wispy fur.

Before long, both kittens were sporting healthy, round bellies, and they flaunted them after every meal. "They are finally eating on their own and starting to bounce around, play, and enjoy all the fun kitten things."

With their newfound strength came their voices and purrs, filling the room with constant squeaks and rumbling. "They are slowly starting to learn that they don't need to swim in their food, and they've mastered the litter box."

Bean surprised everyone by pulling through that first critical week. Now, she storms around the room like a tiny tornado.

With plenty of space to zoom around, toys to chase, and cat trees to climb, the kittens are thriving. "They may not be from the same litter, but they've been inseparable since their rescue."

Each day, their bond grows stronger, showing how much they're meant to stay together.

"Jelly is easygoing, always bouncing around and playing. She may be shy at first, but she adores snuggles. She also has these tiny white hairs over one eye that make her extra cute."

Jelly finds comfort in Bean, her "sister from another mister," as they explore the world together.

Bean's funny faces and expressive personality always put a smile on people's faces. She's a little diva—big on drama but even bigger on love.

With her plush silver coat and signature ear tufts, Bean has grown into a striking little cat. She's also a total lap kitten, happiest when curled up beside Jelly or in a warm set of arms. She looks magical next to her sleek, panther-like sister.

Though not from the same litter, their bond is undeniable. If one hops up onto a cat tree, the other is right behind her. If they lose sight of one another, they'll immediately seek each other out.

To date, many rescuers have come together to help more than 30 cats and kittens from that farm, including the inseparable Jelly and Bean.

Thanks to the compassion and tireless work of the rescuers, Jelly and Bean—and many others—got a second chance they deserved.

They've grown stronger, braver, and more affectionate with each passing day. Now, they're ready for the next chapter: a forever home where they'll never have to be apart.

While Woman Fosters Two Tiny Kittens, This Cat Offers to Help in Unexpectedly Adorable Way

via While Woman Fosters Two Tiny Kittens, This Cat Offers to Help in Unexpectedly Adorable Way

While a woman fostered two tiny kittens, this cat offered to help in an unexpectedly adorable way.

When Molly learned that two orphaned kittens at the SPCA of Tompkins County needed a temporary fosterer, she didn't hesitate to take them in.

"I was excited to have bottle babies for the first time in a long time," Molly shared. A few hours after she brought them home, the shelter called about a mother cat who had arrived without kittens and whose past was unknown.

When Delilah, the young mom, was rescued, she was scrawny and still just a kitten herself.

Since Delilah was producing milk, the shelter asked Molly if she could introduce her to the kittens to see if she would accept them. "I drove back to the shelter and picked her up."

Though a bit confused by the new surroundings, Delilah was friendly and absolutely ravenous. She didn't pay attention to the kittens and instead made a beeline for the food, devouring an entire can in one go. Within two hours, she happily polished off two tube treats and two more cans.

The kittens slept soundly while Delilah busied herself filling her belly. When she finally noticed them, it was clear that nurturing kittens wasn't on her agenda. Molly gave her more time, hoping her motherly instincts would eventually kick in, but they never did.

"She shows no interest in mothering them, and that's okay."

While Molly bottle-fed the kittens around the clock, Delilah stayed close. She spent some time gazing out the window, but she never strayed far from her foster mom. In a manner Molly never anticipated, Delilah found her own way to be helpful.

"I decided to sleep in the foster room so as not to wake up my husband every time my alarm goes off to feed the kittens."

"Look who hopped right into bed with me." Delilah nestled into Molly's arms as if she'd been waiting for this all day.

Soon, she drifted off to sleep, feeling perfectly content. "I had to carefully extricate myself from the bed to feed the kittens while Delilah got some well-deserved sleep. Even when the kittens mewed, Delilah didn't open an eye."

"I bottle-fed the kittens, and whenever I wasn't busy with them, I gave Delilah all the attention she deserved. As soon as I crawled into bed, she flopped herself down in the crook of my neck and cuddled up to me. She slept beside me all night."

The next day, Delilah continued her cuddling streak, leaping straight into Molly's arms as soon as the kittens were fed.

Though she didn't take on the role of mothering the kittens, she supported her foster mom with cuddles and purrs. As Molly tried to rest for a couple of hours before the next feeding, Delilah curled up next to her, purring the sweetest lullaby.

"She would be a perfect work-from-home companion as she just wants to spend as much time with her humans as possible."

After everything Delilah had been through before entering foster care, she could finally focus on herself, growing stronger and healthier each day.

Though Delilah's time with Molly was brief, she filled those days with immeasurable joy, making those sleepless nights much easier. When the time came for her adoption, a loving family had been counting down the days to bring her home.

Within an hour, she was adopted from the shelter and on her way to her dream home. Meanwhile, the two kittens, Dante and Tristan, continued to flourish in foster care, growing by leaps and bounds.

Delilah didn't end up nursing the orphaned kittens, but she found the sweetest way to help by showering her foster mom with endless affection.

Cat and Kittens Live in Hole Between Buildings Until Neighbors Spot Them and Jump in to Help

A cat and her kittens were living in a hole between buildings until kind neighbors spotted them and jumped in to help.

When concerned residents noticed a mother cat and three kittens tucked into a hole between two buildings, they immediately sought help.

The den was cold and dirty, near some garbage cans. Leanne, a volunteer with Whiskers-A-GoGo (a cat rescue), received a call about the feline family and rushed to rescue them first thing the next morning.

"These little gray and white kittens were already starting to climb out of the hole and onto the sidewalk near a busy street. There was no time to waste," Leanne shared.

"We were there in less than 24 hours, and with the help of tuna, baked chicken, and a neighbor with a screwdriver to move the garbage bins, we trapped the mom and scooped up the kittens."

Since the kittens were so young, they quickly warmed up to people and didn't mind being held, though their mom stayed cautious.

"They settled in really well, and the mom (aka Bay Ridge Mama) didn't give me any grief when I weighed them every day. She did stand at the door and stare me down. An occasional hiss just to remind me who's boss."

Bay Ridge Mama had a ravenous appetite, polishing off every dish while attentively feeding her hungry trio.

"She cleans them, cuddles them. Sometimes, she takes a break on top of the little hiding box while the kittens are resting."

Before long, the kittens mastered the litter box, making their foster mom very proud. With their newfound energy and zest for life, they began playing, wrestling, and climbing on top of the box to sneak attack and pounce on each other.

A few days after bringing the feline family home, Leanne found four gray kittens strewn in front of a house. It was cold and windy outside, and despite waiting all day, their mother never returned. Leanne stepped in and took them home.

"I introduced them to Bay Ridge Mama, asking her very politely if she wouldn't mind feeding four more mouths. She took care of them right away."

All through the night, Leanne bottle-fed the newborn kittens while the protective surrogate mom supervised. "She made some growly noises and just sat there, staring me down when I fed them. When I gave them back to her, she cleaned them up."

"Even her kittens cuddled with them."

Bay Ridge Mama has slowly adjusted to indoor life; she no longer hides and feels completely at ease around her foster mom. "She likes to be pet, likes scritches behind the ears, on her back, and the base of her tail. She even leans into it."

Leanne and her team never stopped searching for the gray kittens' mom. With patience, they eventually brought her to safety and reunited her with her brood.

The Bay Ridge kittens have grown by leaps and bounds. They've also discovered their voices and aren't shy about using them. Each day, they grow bolder and more adventurous, ready to take on the world with their endless mischief.

Soon, they will be scampering around their new playpen like tiny whirlwinds.

Bay Ridge Mama contentedly watches from the sidelines as her little ones transform their space into their personal amusement park.

Whenever Leanne enters the room, Mama walks right up to her, ready for a snack or a fresh plate of food.

Day After They Bring Cat to Shelter, Her Six Kittens Arrive, But This Time She Won't Have to Do It Alone

via Day After They Bring Cat to Shelter, Her Six Kittens Arrive, But This Time She Won't Have to Do It Alone

The day after they brought a cat to the shelter, her six kittens arrived. But this time, she wouldn't have to do it alone.

Earlier this month, Garden, a beautiful calico cat, found herself in an animal shelter, heavily pregnant.

The day after she arrived, she gave birth to six kittens and desperately needed a foster home. Best Friends Animal Society (in LA) stepped in to help, giving the family of seven a chance to thrive.

"Garden was sweet and trusting on day one with me. She let me pet and brush her," Jan, the foster mom, shared with Love Meow.

Garden was relieved to escape the stress and noise of the shelter for a quiet, cozy space to raise her young. Caring for six kittens is no easy feat, but she didn't have to do it alone this time.

The kittens (Glisten, Glimmer, Glow, Geranium, Golden Poppy, and Grove) nestled against their doting mom who kept them nourished and clean.

Jan looked for signs from the mom to ensure she was comfortable with her handling the kittens. "I took it slow, but she seemed to have no problem with me picking them up to be weighed on the second day (they were three days old then)."

All six kittens were plump and healthy, a true testament to their mom's dedication.

"It made a huge difference that she gave birth in a warm and clean shelter instead of outside."

Garden moved from the carrier into a larger nest prepared for her. She settled onto the soft blankets with her babies nestled beside her, purring in approval. Whenever she needed a break, she turned to her foster mom for affection.

She tried her first treat from her foster mom and eagerly gobbled it up. "At first, she wasn't sure how to eat it, but after she chomped it and squished out a bunch of the treat into her mouth, she loved it."

With two girls and four boys, Garden had her paws full.

"Six babies are a lot of mouths to feed, but Garden seems to not mind it. I can tell she likes me to help them go potty. Usually, she takes a break after cleaning up after one or two. I don't mind helping her—six babies is a lot."

A few days later, the kittens began to open their eyes and see the world for the first time.

Golden Poppy (house panther) was the first to peek out, taking in the world, and soon, his siblings followed. "Kittens usually start opening their eyes around 8-10 days old, so this boy is an early bloomer."

Even during breaks, Garden keeps a watchful eye on her kittens. "She always stays close and will go to them when they start crying. She will make a loving companion for someone when she's all done nursing her little ones (her last litter)."

sleeping tiny kitten Jan@kittygarden626

The kittens have grown into happy little roly-polies. With full bellies, they sleep soundly and wake up with renewed energy.

"I highly encourage others to volunteer to foster a mom cat and babies. Garden and her sprouts have been one of the easiest fostering experiences I have had in over five years of fostering. Mom does most of the work. I just check in on her, feed her, and weigh the babies daily to make sure they are growing."

calico cat snuggling kitten Jan@kittygarden626

Glimmer may be the smallest, but she has a big voice and a determined spirit, always claiming the prime nursing spot.

At three weeks old, the kittens are finding their footing, strengthening their legs, and becoming more curious about their surroundings. They will soon venture beyond their nest to explore and play.

kitten with big voice GlimmerJan@kittygarden626

"Garden lets her babies climb all over her back and feed under her tummy even while she's trying to have a moment to herself to eat."

Thanks to many compassionate volunteers, this precious family has found a second chance. Garden is thrilled to have a loving foster mom, supporting her and ensuring her kittens grow big and strong.
