They Help a Young Cat Found on Vacant Land, Only to Discover She Came with Kittens

via They Help a Young Cat Found on Vacant Land, Only to Discover She Came with Kittens

They helped a young cat found on a vacant plot of land, only to discover she had come with kittens.

In a quiet neighborhood, a gray cat was spotted meowing on an empty lot. Neighbors had seen her wandering for days, but no one came forward to claim her.

Volunteers from the Stray Cat Club, a local rescue group, were called to investigate. A quick check revealed the cat had no microchip, and no missing-pet posters matched her description.

"We searched extensively for an owner, giving longer than required in case her family were away, but no one has been looking for her," the Stray Cat Club shared.

The young cat, named Lavender, arrived at the rescue little more than skin and bones. She was battling multiple health issues that required nearly two weeks of care. "We couldn't help but wonder if her poor health was the reason she had been left behind."

With treatment and nourishing meals, Lavender's spark began to return.

As her body grew stronger, her belly started to round out. Soon, it became clear this was more than just gaining weight—Lavender had been pregnant all along.

Thinking she was in the early stages of pregnancy, they took her to the vet, only to learn she was much further along. Her scrawny frame had hidden how advanced her pregnancy was for a while.

"So here she is, safe, loved, and due to give birth any day."

Over the next week, Lavender's appetite soared, and her belly grew rounder by the day. She padded confidently around the room, playing with kitten-like energy, unbothered by the weight she carried.

Lavender followed her people, even climbing onto their computer desk to "help" with their work. No longer the skinny, sickly kitty begging for help, she blossomed into a radiant young cat with a silky, gleaming coat.

They expected a small litter, but Lavender had another surprise in store for them.

Her foster family prepared everything she might need for the big day. When she began nesting and grew restless, they knew her time was near.

In the quiet hours before dawn, Lavender went into labor in the comfort of her foster room. Over the next two and a half hours, she welcomed seven precious kittens into the world.

The volunteers had quietly hoped for a small litter, but as they joked, Lavender "clearly didn't get the memo."

She took to motherhood instantly, grooming and nursing her babies, while her foster carers stayed nearby to help. "We are so glad both she and her kittens (her last litter) have made it safely through the birth."

Lavender dotes on her babies, often wrapping her arms around them as if trying to cradle all seven at once.

The room hums with her soothing purrs as the kittens nurse side by side. With her people ensuring she's fed and comfortable, Lavender rarely leaves the nest, devoted entirely to her little ones.

What began as the rescue of one cat turned into the rescue of eight.

Lavender and her seven tiny miracles are now thriving in foster care, thanks to the dedication of the Stray Cat Club volunteers. In the weeks ahead, the kittens will open their eyes, take their first wobbly steps, and discover the world around them.

Cat and Her Only Kitten Scooped Up from Uncertain Life Outside, Now Getting the Happy Tale They Always Wanted

via Cat and Her Only Kitten Scooped Up from Uncertain Life Outside, Now Getting the Happy Tale They Always Wanted

A mother cat and her only kitten were rescued from life on a porch and are finally getting the happy tale they always wanted.

A frail mother cat was found abandoned on a porch, with her tiny kitten clinging to her side. They survived on scraps that barely filled their bellies.

When volunteers from Tails High learned of their plight, they rushed to help. They had rescued other cats from the same location, all with rough beginnings, and they were determined to change the fate of the mother and her kitten.

When the rescue request came in, the volunteers knew instantly what to call them.

"We thought they looked like a pair that a children's book would be written about," Tails High shared. So they named them Storybook and Fable.

Both were in poor condition—malnourished and infested with fleas. Storybook's coat was thin and patchy from damaged skin, and Fable was anemic but clung to life with remarkable grit. "We are so grateful for our volunteers who jump into action at a moment's notice."

Safe at last, Storybook and Fable settled into a foster home where their healing could begin. With nourishing meals and attentive care, Storybook's strength returned, and her missing fur started to grow back. Fable regained her appetite and, with it, her playful spark.

Once they were stable, they moved in with Jennifer, a long-term fosterer, to continue their journey toward recovery. "Fable is a determined little soul. She had a rough entry to life, but her lesson was 'I can do anything,'" Jennifer told Love Meow.

"Mama Storybook is the sweetest girl you can imagine and an expert lap cat. She wants to be with the people all the time, if not in a lap, then close by in a cozy place where she can supervise."

Affectionate and easygoing, Storybook is a true love bug. Fable, following in her pawsteps, has become quite the cuddle companion herself.

"Fable is fine with getting a million kisses, being held, and snuggling on a lap or shoulder."

Now brimming with energy, she's discovered the joy of play, racing across the room, batting at toys, and pouncing with fearless enthusiasm. Her body may be small, but her personality is larger than life. "She would sometimes rather play than eat."

Storybook continues to heal beautifully, and the bare patches on her coat are filling in with soft new fur. With time, her glossy, regal beauty will return in full.

"She's big into bird watching, loves all the toys, especially wand toys, which she wants to carry away with her."

Fable loves to seek out her mom for a grooming session, then curl up beside her to cuddle or nap.

She's also endlessly curious about life beyond the kitten room. Whenever she manages to dart out, she struts down the hallway as if she owns the place, unfazed by the many cats in the house.

"They are turning a new page as they continue to soak up all the cuddles and shoulder snuggles with their foster family, and show us how far love goes in making a difference for these deserving kitties," Tails High added.

Thanks to the compassionate volunteers, the story of the mother and daughter has been rewritten. Once a tale of survival against the odds, it is now one of safety, comfort, and the promise of a future filled with love.

Kitten Found Near Mailbox Never Gives Up, Becomes Sweetest Cat, and Has a Special Way into Everyone's Heart

via Kitten Found Near Mailbox Never Gives Up, Becomes Sweetest Cat, and Has a Special Way into Everyone's Heart

A kitten found beside a mailbox never gave up and had a special way into everyone's heart.

Community members of a trailer park stopped in their tracks when they heard the cries of kittens. Following the sound, they came to a mailbox, where a cardboard box sat nearby. Inside were two tiny kittens, meowing with all their might.

The pair was rushed to the SPCA of Tompkins County, where Molly, a foster volunteer, stepped up to care for them. Though only 7-10 days old, the kittens were fiercely vocal. Molly named them Siouxsie and Budgie after the rock band, Siouxsie and the Banshees.

"I knew they needed names that matched their impressive pipes and feistiness," Molly shared.

Orphaned at such a young age, the kittens were fragile and vulnerable. Despite every effort, Budgie lost his fight to calicivirus. Siouxsie, the smaller of the two, became the lone survivor.

This determined little one refused to give up. She demanded her bottle until she was fed, then purred contentedly after every meal.

"Siouxsie is so sweet, but as she developed all that kitten energy, she missed out on having another kitten to wrestle, play with, and learn from," Molly told Love Meow. "She is one of those kittens who loves to crawl into your hand, curl up, and go to sleep."

Even after she outgrew Molly's hand, she still managed to snuggle up in it and make it work.

To comfort her, Molly gave Siouxsie a plush mama cat with a soothing heartbeat. "It's not the same as having her mom or brother, but since I can't hold her 24 hours a day, it's at least something."

Still, nothing compared to human touch. If Siouxsie had her way, she would have spent every moment nestled in a warm lap.

"After a long play session with her wand toy and tunnel and a big meal, she would settle down in my lap or on my chest and sleep for hours, changing from one cute position to another, usually until I finally had to get up because my butt was numb or I hadn't gotten anything else done all day."

Like all kittens, Siouxsie learned through play, discovering limits and boundaries along the way.

"Sometimes, she would climb up on my shoulders and try to leap out of her enclosure, or she would use my back as a jungle gym, scrambling up and down and biting my neck or hair."

But amid her antics, Siouxsie often slipped into Molly's arms and pressed tiny kisses against her chin, her way of saying thank you.

By seven weeks old, Siouxsie crossed the two-pound milestone and was almost ready for adoption. "She beat the odds after being found in a box at one week old, surviving calicivirus and growing into a healthy, sweet, and energetic kitten."

When it was time for her spay surgery, little did she know the perfect ending was just around the corner."

"She didn't even make it to the adoption floor. Someone saw one of my posts and went to pick her up (that very same day)."

Now, Siouxsie is no longer a singleton. She's part of a loving family with another kitten, an older cat, and even a canine companion. "I'm so excited for her to get to play and wrestle with her new siblings."

Thanks to the compassion of strangers and a dedicated fosterer, Siouxsie blossomed into the lap cat she was always meant to be. Today, she's living her happily-ever-after in her dream home.

Staff Find Young Cat and 3 Kittens with a Note Outside, Within Minutes, Their Lives Transformed Forever

via Staff Find Young Cat and 3 Kittens with a Note Outside, Within Minutes, Their Lives Transformed Forever

Adoption center staff discovered a young cat and three kittens outside with a note. Within minutes, their lives changed forever.

It was closing time at Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions when a staff member noticed two pet carriers stacked outside the nearby veterinary clinic.

It was Labor Day, and the clinic was closed. Concerned, they went to investigate. Inside the bottom carrier was a young mother cat, and in the top one were her three kittens, all panting heavily in the relentless heat.

Resting on top was a torn scrap of lined paper with just a few words: "I'm sorry. Good kitty girl. No $. Please help!"

The staff sprang into action, bringing the carriers inside to cool the cats and offer fresh water.

Foster volunteer Ellen Richter quickly stepped in, ensuring the little family had a safe, comfortable place to land. "If you or someone you know is in crisis and feels like there's no other option, please reach out. There are solutions, and we are here to help," Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions shared.

"Their journey is only beginning, but now they have a bright future ahead."

After two quiet days of decompressing in a cozy foster room, the young mother, named Italia Ristretto, came out of her shell and began to seek affection. "She's very sweet, friendly, and loving. It was clear she was done with the whole mom thing," Ellen said.

Still a kitten, Italia seemed relieved to pass the parenting duties along. She climbed into Ellen's lap, soaking up every bit of affection and showing how much she enjoyed being the center of attention.

While Italia rediscovered her playful side, her kittens began exploring their new surroundings with wide-eyed wonder.

The smallest, Pecan Caramel Purrmacchiato, looks nearly identical to her brother, Mocha Toffee Meowcha, both with sandy, ticked tabby coats that shimmer in the light. Their sister, Cinnamon Swirl Catpuccino, is a stunning striped tabby. "Two of them have extra thumbs."

Though shy at first, the kittens grew bolder each day, venturing farther from their comfort zone and letting their personalities shine.

Once they realized people weren't so scary, the kittens turned their foster mom into their personal jungle gym.

One by one, they scrambled up her shoulders, perching like tiny supervisors surveying the room. With newfound confidence, they explored every corner, wrestled with toys, and practiced their kitten acrobatics.

While the kittens hone their feline skills, Italia is preparing for the good life she deserves.

She has been nothing but a love bug since her rescue—gentle, trusting, and eager to please. She'll never have to raise another litter or be left outside in the heat again. Now, she follows people around like a shadow, the perfect companion.

At around seven weeks old, the tabbies have entered the whirlwind stage of kittenhood. Their days are filled with wild zoomies, wrestling matches, and fearless exploration.

When they finally tire themselves out, they curl up in the sun on a soft blanket, sometimes with their paws tucked neatly under them like perfect loaves of bread.

Thanks to the swift response and compassion of the staff, the young mother and her kittens were saved from the heat and given a second chance.

Now, they spend their days leaping after toys, climbing furniture, and bringing boundless joy to their foster home.
